Technical Difficulties

Yes, that’s right, technical difficulties have made their appearance again. I won’t be able to post more photos until the end of next week, but check back then! I have all sorts of fun shoots eagerly waiting to be posted. A portrait session with Heather and her “curly” hair this time, a fabulous family shoot, and a maternity shoot. Sorry for the wait, but soon photos will be back!

Dear Mom,

Last week, I got to photograph my mom! She usually never wants to be in front of the camera, but she is being featured in the Women’s Ministry newsletter at my church and they needed a picture of her. So, I, of course, volunteered my services and was thrilled to be able to get her in front of the camera. Isn’t she gorgeous? I think so. I mean look at her stunning blue eyes. Beautiful! We had a blast. We went out to a new place where I’ve been wanting to do a shoot for awhile because it has the most gorgeous light in the evening and there are rail road cars right across the field. Anyway, it was a lot of fun and I got a whole pile of photos that captured her different “looks”. I was so glad because we have no updated photos of her :-)

So, Mom, thank you being a wonderful model! I love you so much and I am so blessed to have to you for a mom. You are always giving of yourself and your time for us. Thank you for always being so supportive of me and for continually teaching me new things and challenging me to break out of the box. I love you!

I love this one. She looks so serene.

Look at those blue eyes. Gorgeous!

One of those “looks”.

I must say I’m a little jealous. Over the last few years, my mom has mastered the art of walking in heals, but I’m still very challenged in this area. :-)

Our attempt at an action shot.

Christy - Katie,
As you know, I do not like getting my picture taken but I must say I’ve never had so much fun. I know I was a hard case but you were amazing as you kept working with me to relax and just have fun. I would never have thought of the places you had me sit, stand, lean etc. you amaze me with the gift God has given you. Thanks again for being so patient and capturing the beauty you see in me. I love you lots and am excited to see God’s plans for your life unfold before you very eyes. Love, Mom

You captured your Mom so beautifully. Again, you are a very talented young woman. You were able to catch the very essience of your Mom, and reveal her spirit on camera. Amazing!

Fall

I absolutely love fall. It is my favorite season and I usually don’t have favorites. I love all the colors. The leaves are so stunning with their mixture of red and yellow and orange and green. I love everything about fall, the crunch of the leaves under my feet, the crisp, cool air, the cloudy and sunny weather, the smell of smoke drifting from my neighbors chimney. People start wearing sweaters and boots again. My mom starts making all kinds of delicious soup which warm us all right up. It is a lovely season.

I have such fond memories of fall from when I was little. My dad would always climb the tree in our backyard and shake all the leaves down onto my sister and I. Then, we’d rake all the leaves into one huge pile, get a running start, and leap into the pile of leaves which would swallow us right up. Such fun times. Anyway, I thought I would share some of my favorite fall photos from this year with you. Enjoy!

No, my lens is not dirty. I think the black things are bugs flying by, at least that’s all I could think of.

This is the huge tree that is in my backyard. It’s a gorgeous tree.

Okay, I absolutely love this photo! Amazingly, it was taken in my own backyard.
